SUMMARY

ROZHDESTVENSKAYA Ye.Yu. «Narrative Identity in Autobiographical Interview»: The article proposes conceptualizing the notion of «narrative identity» used in the analysis of (auto) biography as the history of life. We consider the specifics of the communicative process «the interviewer-narrator», aimed at the reconstruction of biographies based on pre-interpreting social world. We compare the current theoretical approaches to the interpretation of this concept through the introduction of universal characteristics: a narrative organization of time series of events, the selection of narrative events, the narrator’s rhetorical efforts to clarify the contextual dependence and combining the time of the story and narrated time.

Keywords: narrative, identity, biographical interviews, coherence, biographical event, plot, setting, segmentation, linearization, cognitive figures of the story.

IL’IN А.N. «Three-component model of mass culture influence on the subject»: The article considers the problems of analysis of mass culture influence on the subject supposing mass culture as to have three levels: kitch-сulture, mid-culture, art-culture. The manifestations of subjectivity on each level are analyzed and the idea of different influence of every level is substantiated: the subject is being destroyed on the kitch-level, he is keeping safely on the mid-level and developing on the art-level.

Keywords: mass culture, subjectivity, levels of mass culture, kitch-culture, mid-culture, art-culture.

YELISEEVA I.I., KURYSHEVA S.V. «Dummy Variables in Data Analysis»: The article deals with the problem of using of dummy variables for analysis of relation between socio-economic variables. The main attention is paid to regression analysis, time-series analysis and contingency tables. The examples illustrate the using of dummy variables for the different tasks.

Keywords: nominal variables, dummy variable, relation of variables, regression analysis, contingency table, time-series.

MYAGKOV A.YU., ZHURAVLEVA S.L., PROKOFIEV E.N. «The “forced response” model: The article is devoted to an experimental study of the «forced response» model serving to increase a level of respondent anonymity in sensitive research. The paper discusses the results of comparing a quality of data obtained via this technique with that ones obtained through traditional methods. An effectiveness of the model is estimated through a validity of respondents’ answers, response rate and subjective opinions of respondents. Ways of further possible improvements over the model are also discussed.

Keywords: randomized response method, “forced response” model, sensitive questions, validity assessment experiment, data quality, subject anonymity, individual validation.

GORYAINOV V.P. «On the approach to latent values analysis»: Basing on the secondary analysis of the international research data the article presents the approach to the comparative analysis of value orientations. The approach is founded on the principle of introduction of «latent values-antipodes», or «values doubling» technique which was used for interpretation of the factor analysis results. The approach permits to reveal latent values including neutral ones – some groups of the population keep social silence in reply to the «declarative» values offered in interview.

Keywords: value orientations, cross-cultural research, values-antipodes, factor analysis, social silence.

KLIMOVA S.G., GALITSKAYA Ye.G. «Analysis of moods by structure-logic typification method»: The conceptual model and procedure of the typological analysis of moods carried out on the base of representative research of Russian workers data is offered in the article. The method of structure-logic typification based on multistage clustering and «kernels cluster» extraction technique is used. The revealed types of the workers are described.

Keywords: moods, emotions, behavior, workers, cluster analysis, classification, typology.

PASHKEVICH A.V. «Combined Experimental Results in Tolerance Study Based on Open-Ended and Fixed-Choice Questions»: The article analyzes different measurement methods applied in research work for such phenomenon as tolerance and substantiates the advisability of combined usage of fixed-choice and open-ended questions in the questionnaire for empirical research of this phenomenon. It is presented the results of a sociological research of high school students and it is shown how open-ended questions allow not only broadening the cognitive potentiality of sociological techniques but helping to interpret the responses given to fixed-choice questions in an adequate manner too.

Keywords: tolerance, intolerance, open-ended questions, fixed-choice questions, text mining.

SHLYKOVA E.V. «“Risk” as a Factor of Intolerant Attitude to Migrants»: The article is proved the risk to be the factor of intolerant attitude to migrants. The empirical interpretation of such variables as «receiving inhabitants’ attitude to migrants» and «subjective risk assessment» is proposed. The classification of risks accompanying migratory process in different spheres of Russian society is also suggested.

Keywords: risk, migrant, receiving inhabitants, tolerant attitude, intolerant attitude, subjective risk assessment, detriment acceptation.

SHATS V.N. «On Model of Impact of the Information on Group»: In the article the mathematical model for approximate estimation of the effect of socially significant information on some group is proposed. There’s considered the process of communication simulated as the moving of information in the chain of the elements converting this information according to the dependence approximating the Weber-Fechner law. Simulation is reduced to the solution of partial differential equation and its results are corresponded with existing conceptions of collective behavior.

Keywords: mathematical model, effect of information, group dynamics, psychophysical law, collective behavior, significance scale.
